ATLANTA — Polls are now open across Georgia as early voting begins Tuesday for the November 3 midterm elections, with several major state and federal races on the ballot.
Georgia voters can cast their ballots in person beginning October 13 through Friday, October 30.
Among the major races is Georgia’s open governor’s seat, with former Atlanta Mayor Keisha Lance Bottoms running as the Democratic nominee against Republican Rick Jackson and Libertarian Chase Oliver.
Voters will also decide who will serve as lieutenant governor, secretary of state, attorney general and several other statewide offices.
In the U.S. Senate race, Democratic incumbent Jon Ossoff faces Republican U.S. Rep. Mike Collins.
All 14 of Georgia’s congressional districts are also on the ballot, including four open seats.
At the state level, voters will determine who fills all 180 seats in the Georgia House of Representatives and all 56 seats in the state Senate.
Several statewide ballot measures will also be considered, including proposals involving NextGen 911 modernization, nonpartisan probate judges and agricultural conservation tax caps.
President Donald Trump is scheduled to make a campaign stop in northwest Georgia on Friday, October 16.
What Georgia voters need to know about early voting
Unlike Election Day, when voters must report to their assigned polling precinct, Georgians can vote at any designated early voting location within their county of residence.
Early voting is available Monday through Friday, with some locations also offering Saturday and Sunday voting.
Voters must bring a valid photo ID, such as a driver’s license, passport or voter identification card.
Residents can find their county’s early voting locations through the Georgia Secretary of State’s website by selecting the November 3 general election and their county.
Voters can also review their sample ballots, verify their registration information and find polling locations through the state’s My Voter Page.
Those unable to vote early or in person on Election Day can request an absentee ballot to vote by mail.
Early voting ends October 30, ahead of Election Day on Tuesday, November 3.
