DEKALB COUNTY, Ga. — A deadly crash is under investigation on Monday morning.
Authorities responded to I-85 north in DeKalb County near Chamblee Tucker Road after reports of a crash.
According to police, a motorist was involved in a single-vehicle crash on I-85 north. A second motorist stopped to offer help.
That is when police say a third vehicle struck both motorists and was followed closely by a fourth vehicle who was unable to avoid the crash.
Police said the driver involved in the initial crash died. The second motorist who tried to help was rushed to a hospital after being critically injured.
The identity of the victim and the other motorists who were involved in the crash were not released.
The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
