FAYETTEVILLE, GA — An investigation is underway after a dog was found zipped up inside a suitcase that was thrown in a dumpster near the square in Fayetteville.

Fayette County officials say they are reviewing surveillance video of the incident and considering animal cruelty charges against the person responsible.

The dog had a micro-chip and was previously adopted from a Fulton County animal shelter. Officials say the dog is ok.
