Deputies release images of objects, pictures found with skeletal remains in NC

CHEROKEE COUNTY, NC — The Cherokee County Sheriff’s Office, North Carolina is asking for the public’s help to identify items and photographs found with skeletal remains discovered in a wooded area near the North Carolina/Georgia border.

Deputies found the remains in a wooded area near the 6200 block of Brasstown Road in Cherokee County, North Carolina on Feb. 13. Deputies and detectives processed the scene, including several items of evidence, including a watch, glasses and photographs from a digital camera.

Deputies said that due to the condition of the remains, they believe the victim may have been dead for some time. Preliminary analysis suggests that the victim is a tall man who could be up to 50 years old.

There are no active missing person cases in the area.

Deputies said they are releasing the photos in hopes someone may recognize some of the objects, people or places in the pictures.
