ATLANTA — According to the CDC, the number of Americans dying from a drug overdose has decreased. In fact, it was a dropped 26% from the year before.
Researchers say deaths linked to opioids and stimulants like cocaine and meth are down overall, but the biggest decline was deaths from synthetic opioids like fentanyl.
While the report doesn’t look at what’s behind the decline, it could be due to the increased availability of overdose reversal drugs, like narcan.
