Gwinnett County police have released the 911 call of a woman who was attacked while getting out of her shower. The woman's neighbor actually made the call and then handed the phone over to the victim who told them a man was trying to rape and kill her.
"I was in the shower and the lights came on in my house and this man came in with a hood on and he had a knife in his hand," she sobbed.
Gwinnett County Police Corporal Edwin Ritter tells Channel 2 Action News the man got in a through an unlocked door. She fought him off and shot him several times.
"She had no idea where he went, other than he went out the back door," said Ritter.
"I got my .22 and I just shot him as much as I could. I don't know where he is. I shot him with the .22, but he just kept running," said the woman.
Police found 34-year-old Israel Perez Puentes, a convicted felon, dead in her back yard.
