ByoPlanet International is an electrostatic spray company based in Athens: ByoPlanet says it will be expanding its operations on Old Winterville Road, adding another 250 jobs to the Athens economy.

“It’s a pleasure to see ByoPlanet International continue to grow their footprint in Athens,” says Governor Kemp. “With a spray system born from innovative studies conducted at the University of Georgia, ByoPlanet International is continuing to play a critical role in keeping schools, airlines, hospitals, and many other indoor spaces safe and sanitized so we can keep our economy open and protect lives and livelihoods as we fight COVID-19.”

“2020 has been an exciting and challenging year for ByoPlanet. With all of the changes that have happened in the world since the onset of COVID-19, ByoPlanet has experienced unprecedented growth in our revenue, number of employees, and facility size and capacity,” says Peter Johansson, president and COO for ByoPlanet International. “ByoPlanet has been present in Athens since 2010, and we see the area as the ideal location for our continued growth and development. We are planning for another record year in 2021 with the introduction of two new product lines with a breakthrough in spraying performance, further solidifying our position as the leading provider of electrostatic chemical dispensing technology, and with the expansion of our business beyond North America into international markets. We are thankful for the continued support from the State of Georgia and Athens-Clarke County, and look forward to a long and successful partnership.”
