ATLANTA — A 61-year-old man is in critical condition after he was shot outside of a Kentucky Fried Chicken in southwest Atlanta, police said.
According to Capt. Christian Hunt, the man shot, was an employee at the KFC located at 23 Joseph E. Lowery Boulevard. Hunt said the man walked outside of the restaurant and was shot multiple times around 9:30 Wednesday evening.
Hunt said it appeared two men were outside of the restaurant were arguing which eventually resulted in gunfire.
The victim was an innocent bystander, according to police.
Police said the man is in critical condition and has been transported to a local hospital where he underwent emergency surgery.
Police did not release any information on the shooting suspect.
This shooting comes just hours after police responded to a person shot called near Shepherd Circle, where SWAT and negotiators were called to the scene.
