10-year-old writes letter to Cobb County DOT requesting deer crossing sign

Reagan Johnson (Cobb County Government)

COBB COUNTY, Ga. — A 10-year-old who sent a letter to the Cobb County Department of Transportation (DOT) got her wish after crews installed two new traffic signs.

Cobb County Government officials said when 10-year-old Reagan Johnson saw a car hit a deer on Gordon Combs Road, she felt compelled to write a letter.

In her letter to the Cobb County DOT, she said there should be new signage warning of deer crossing.

County leaders agreed with Johnson’s concerns and acknowledged many deer were in the area where she saw the crash.

Government officials said when Johnson saw the two deer crossing signs on Wednesday, she texted her father, who joined her in the celebration.
