FORT EISENHOWER, Ga. — One person has died after an “active shooter” and lockdown at a U.S. Army installation in eastern Georgia on Saturday morning, according to WSBTV.
Fort Eisenhower officials say a person was shot and killed in on-post housing. The identity of the victim has not been released.
The shooter was taken into custody and a spokesperson for Fort Eisenhower says the incident “appears to be isolated.”
“Fort Eisenhower is actively supporting the victim’s family and assistance will be available to anyone impacted by this tragedy. The safety of our residents and personnel remains our primary concern,” a spokesperson wrote in a statement according to WSBTV.
