Here in the south we have trouble falling asleep staying asleep, and we're the most likely to say we feel tired during the day.
That's according to a new report in the Journal of Clinical Sleep Medicine.
People in California are among the most rested with just 17 percent reporting sleep problems, and only 18 percent say they felt tired during the day.
It's not clear why we have such an issue with sleep here in the south, but researchers say stress may be a possibility. Even when they factored in weather, length of daylight and health southerners were still more negatively affected .
