BOSTON, Mass. — The Atlanta Hawks are still alive in the NBA playoffs after pulling off a late-game 119-117 win against the Boston Celtics on Tuesday night.
After trailing for most of the game, Trae Young and the Hawks came back to take the lead and pull out a win in Boston. Young hit a 3-pointer with 2.8 seconds to go for the difference.
Tuesday’s Hawks’ win cuts the Celtics’ series lead to 3-2 in the seven-game matchup.
A loss on Tuesday would have knocked the Hawks out of the playoffs.
The Hawks and Celtics are heading back to Atlanta for Game 6 scheduled for Thursday, April 27.
On that same night, Janet Jackson is scheduled for a concert. State Farm Arena released a statement following the win, saying that it will ensure all events work out fine for guests:
“This is such an exciting time for the city with world-class events between Hawks Playoff basketball, Janet Jackson and Taylor Swift in downtown Atlanta. We are committed to ensuring all of our guests have a great night out at each of our events and are working with our partners to provide the most seamless experience possible,” State Farm Arena Executive Vice President of Arena Programming Trey Feazell.
LIVE Nation said due to the game, Jackson’s concert date has been moved:
“Due to the Atlanta Hawks playoff game, the Janet Jackson show originally scheduled for Thursday, April 27 at State Farm Arena has been moved to Friday, April 28. All tickets for Thursday night’s show will be honored for Friday night. Refunds will be available at point of purchase for those who are unable to attend.”
