ATLANTA — Atlanta police are asking for the public’s help in identifying a suspect involved in an armed carjacking.
Investigators say the incident happened around 10 a.m. on March 29 at 814 Magnolia Way.
Officers responded to the scene and spoke with a woman who said her vehicle was taken by an armed man wearing a mask and a hooded sweatshirt.
According to police, the victim had started her car in her parking space before going back inside her residence to retrieve a bag she left behind. When she returned, investigators say she was confronted by the suspect, who was armed with a handgun and demanded her belongings, including her car keys.
Police say the victim complied, and the suspect got into the vehicle and drove away.
Investigators say the suspect was captured in surveillance video and images, and they are working to identify him.
The investigation remains ongoing.
