An Athens teenager is arrested on a felony murder charge: 15 year-old Marquis Malcom is the accused triggerman in the shooting death of 38 year-old Carlos Harper. Athens-Clarke County Police say the weekend killing happened on Carriage Court in Athens. There was no immediate word from police investigators on a possible motive.
A man from Hart County is arrested on drug trafficking charges in Franklin County: Joseph Pham is 33 years old, from Hartwell. Drug agents say he was dealing methamphetamine and prescription painkillers from a home in Lavonia. Pham is also facing weapons charges.
The body of a missing swimmer is found in Lake Lanier: Anthony Saintil was 23 years old, from Henry County. Saintil was last seen jumping off a pontoon near Flat Creek; the Hall County Sheriff’s Office dive team found his body in a 44 feet of water.
One person was killed and several others were injured in a three-vehicle crash in Lumpkin County: the Lumpkin County Sheriff’s Office says it happened on Long branch Road near Dahlonega. The Georgia State Patrol is investigating.
