The new Wavy Lay's potato chips dipped in milk chocolate will be a Christmas only product, available exclusively at Target.
Frito-Lay said there’s a reason they’ll be limited at first.
"When you try something drastically different, you have to walk before you can run."
USA Today reports Ram Krishnan from Frito-Lay confirmed the company wanted to be cautious and "test our way through this before we go big."
The report looked at several reason for bringing the combination out now.
First, the rising popularity in the US toward foods that combine salt and sweet.
Another trend has been the amount of “holiday specific” snacks sold from Halloween through New Year's.
Then there’s the huge uptick in consumption of foods considered snacks.
Stats show 43% of Americans nibble on small meals or foods between three and four times a day.
That’s a 19% increase in the last four years.
The new chips won’t be cheap. A five ounce bag will be $3.49.
