After nearly a week of record high afternoon temperatures, weather conditions in Metro Atlanta and North Georgia will finally feel like Fall!
Today will still be hot, though, with afternoon highs in the low to mid 80s. In fact, most of the day will feature temperatures 10 degrees above average before we say “good bye” to the prolonged summer heat.

The big transition begins this evening, as a cold front sweeps through the Metro Atlanta area around 7pm. The wind will mark the arrival of the cold front, gusting as high as 30 mph.
The animation below illustrates the Futurecast Wind gusts for this evening into Saturday morning.

By sunrise Saturday morning, temperatures will drop as low as the mid 40s, including inside the Perimeter!

Cool conditions will prevail this weekend as afternoon highs will remain in the mid 60s through Saturday and Sunday afternoons.
