If you want to know why Kirby Smart and the Georgia football program continue to recruit players who are committed to other programs, look at what is going on in the transfer portal.
On Sunday, one-time Georgia commit Deyon ‘Smoke’ Bouie visited Athens. Bouie was the No. 68 overall player in the 2022 recruiting cycle and comes from the same hometown as Smart in Bainbridge, Ga.
But Bouie ended up signing with Texas A&M, even after the Bulldogs continued to recruit him in the run-up to last year’s early signing period. Now, the Bulldogs have a chance to once again potentially land Bouie, which would help bolster Georgia’s secondary next season.
