An Atlanta Police officer, a Fulton County prisoner and a female driver are being treated for non-life threatening injuries at Grady Hospital after all three were tangled up in a wreck.
The wreck happened just before 7 p.m. Thursday at the intersection of Joseph Lowery Boulevard and Donald Lee Hollowell Parkway in northwest Atlanta.
Witnesses told Channel 2 Action News an officer, speeding in his cruiser, crashed into a Honda Civic. The witness said the officer ran a red light without his emergency lights on.
"She's got the right of way," witness Young Check told Channel 2 Action News. "He's trying to make the light with no lights on. He's in the wrong."
All three accident victims are hospitalized in stable condition. In an e-mail to WSB Radio, Atlanta Police Sgt. Curtis Davenport said, "The officer and the female driver complained of injury and the prisoner was treated for a cut to his lip."
The cause of the accident is under investigation.
