LAS VEGAS — A new walking workout may be better for you than running.
It’s called the 12-3-30 workout and it involves walking on a treadmill at a 12% incline at 3 miles-per-hour for 30 minutes.
Doctors who studied the workout say it burns the same amount of calories as running for 20 to 25 minutes, but it burns 41% fat compared to 33% for running.
Walking is also easier on the legs and joints.
