NEWARK, NJ — If you or someone you know is flying into or out of Newark today, there are delays at New Jersey’s Newark Liberty International Airport. The FAA said runway construction and staffing shortages are to blame, as well as issues with equipment.

A temporary ground stop had to be issued Thursday morning. At one point arrival delays were averaging four hours.

This comes after technical issues forced a ground stop Monday, leading to heavy backups.
