Channel 2 Action News has learned that a woman who drove her vehicle off Georgia 400 into a shallow portion of Lake Lanier will be charged.
The Forsyth County Sheriff's Office says Samantha Silverman drove her vehicle down an embankment between exits 15 and 16 near Bald Ridge and Pilgrim Mill and into a lake.
The sheriff's office posted on its Facebook page a photo of the vehicle in shallow water with people standing beside it.
An ambulance transported the middle-aged woman to the Northeast GA Medical Center in Gainseville. Her dog was taken by K-9 unit to a local vet.
Friday afternoon a sheriff's office spokesman said Silverman is charged with driving under the influence of drugs, driving too fast for conditions, driving with a suspended license and reckless driving. She also has an outstanding warrant for possession of methamphetamine.
Channel 2's Wendy Corona says the woman was listed in stable condition.
Forsyth County Sheriff's say Ga. 400 is now reopened.
