Woman held captive, raped and tortured in Buford home

Woman held captive, raped, and tortured in Buford home House on Grand Ashbury Lane where woman was held captive

Gwinnett County Police arrest a man for torturing, raping, and holding his girlfriend captive over a 24-hour period at his Buford home.

Cpl. Michele Pihera says the suspect, 39-year-old Thuan Dinh, had traveled to California to pick up his 41-year-old girlfriend. But after they arrived at his home on Grand Ashbury Lane, she was put in the basement and repeatedly assaulted both sexually and physically with a taser.

At one point, the woman was able to run to a neighbor’s home two doors down after her boyfriend left the house.

“When she showed up at the neighbor’s home, they found her completely nude; they found her with duct tape around her neck and her head; and they found her hands tied up with rope,” says Cpl. Michele Pihera.

She tells WSB’s Sandra Parrish officers found evidence inside the house corroborating the woman’s story as well as a large amount of marijuana.

Dinh was nowhere to be found at the time, but was arrested days later during a traffic stop.

Pihera says others may be charged in connection with the drugs.

“Right now, we don’t know what his motivation was with regards to the assault against his girlfriend. But the narcotics investigation is still underway,” she says.
