ATHENS, GA — An Athens jury reached a verdict in the Tara Baker murder trial.

Edrick Lamont Faust has been found guilty on all counts in the 2001 rape and murder of the UGA law student.

Baker died in 2001 after someone broke into her off-campus apartment, killed her and then set the house on fire to cover up the murder.

The case remain unsolved for more than two decades before it was reopened by the GBI.

After the case went cold for years, the GBI charged Faust in 2024.
