UFC legend Conor McGregor spotted at Savannah St. Patrick’s Day parade

SAVANNAH, Ga. — It’s one of the biggest days of the year for Savannah as the city hosted its annual St. Patrick’s Day parade on Friday.

Among the many guests and patrons who have flooded downtown Savannah, was UFC legend Conor McGregor.

McGregor, who was born in Ireland, stopped at a Savannah firehouse and posed for some photos.

The MMA fighter was part of the parade, appearing on a float for Proper Twelve Whiskey, WJCL-TV reports.

Savannah’s St. Patrick’s Day parade is one of the largest in the U.S. This year’s parade featured more than 350 marching bands and up to 15,000 people, according to the city’s website.

The parade was expected to last about four hours.

The city’s manager, Jay Melder, said he expects a huge influx of people to be in Savannah for the parade and throughout the weekend.

“We’ve seen crowds higher than 100,000 before, easy, and that’s what we’re expecting this year for a Friday parade,” Melder told WSAV-TV. “We’re expecting the heaviest crowds that we’ve ever seen.”

The Savannah Police Department said there would be stepped-up patrols around the parade area to keep everyone safe.
