CLAYTON COUNTY, GA — A Riverdale man has been convicted of trafficking, rape and false imprisonment involving a 15-year-old girl after investigators used a distinctive tattoo to identify him in a previously closed case.
Christopher Clark, 28, was identified after the victim provided investigators with a description of the man who raped her, including a tattoo across his chest that read “Florida Boy.”
The case had previously been closed before the Georgia Attorney General’s Office reopened the investigation.
Using the victim’s description, the Attorney General’s Human Trafficking Prosecution Unit developed a sketch and issued a Crime Stoppers alert featuring the tattoo.
The information eventually led investigators to Clark, who was located and arrested.
Clark was convicted of trafficking, rape and false imprisonment for holding the teenager against her will and sexually assaulting her.
A Clayton County Superior Court judge sentenced Clark to 20 years in prison, followed by life on probation.
Clark is one of five men convicted in connection with the trafficking of the 15-year-old girl.
The Attorney General’s Human Trafficking Prosecution Unit also secured convictions against four other individuals, including the person who sold the teenager.
