COBB COUNTY, GA — A SWAT situation that began on Wednesday morning in a Mableton neighborhood not far from Highway 78 ends with a suspect in custody.

Earlier in the day, the deputies from the Cobb County Sheriff’s Office went to a home on Vinings Retreat Pass to serve a man a misdemeanor warrant.

That is when the man went inside and held a family member hostage.

A SWAT team was then deployed to respond to the hostage situation. That family member was released quickly after.

Another family member was not harmed.

The agency says there was no danger to the public.
