Hawks All-Star guard Trae Young has entered the NBA’s health and safety protocols and was set to miss Atlanta’s game hosting the Cavaliers Sunday night. The contest has now been postponed given Cleveland’s lack of players due to COVID protocols.

Hawks coach Nate McMillan told reporters Young is the only Hawks player on the protocols list.

In the last few days, the NBA updated COVID protocols for the next couple of weeks. It calls for increased testing from December 26th to January 8th. A memo also details masks are required for players, coaches, and staff on the bench within games – as well as in other team settings away from the court.
