DEKALB COUNTY, GA — DeKalb County leaders are gathering Wednesday to bring attention to youth violence following several recent incidents involving children.

County CEO Lorraine Cochran-Johnson will join Police Chief Gregory Padrick, school district leaders and others for a news conference Wednesday morning.

The call to action comes after the deaths of two DeKalb County children and a threat that prompted a lockdown at Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. High School, both within the last few days.

Leaders will also provide information about youth intervention and engagement programs.

Residents can watch the news conference live on DCTV beginning at 10 a.m. Wednesday.
