Police arrest 21-year-old man wanted in connection to deadly southwest Atlanta shooting

A mother is facing multiple charges including child abuse after she allegedly tried to sell her young daughter for $20 in Jacksonville, Florida.

ATLANTA — Police have made an arrest in connection to a deadly shooting in southwest Atlanta in October of 2024.

Officers responded to the area of 1240 Oakland Dr. after reports of a shooting on Oct. 5.

Upon arrival, officers located a 28-year old male who had several gunshot wounds. The victim, whose identity was not released, was pronounced deceased on scene by medical personnel.

Police say 21-year-old Tyshier Denike was taken into custody with assistance of the Clayton County Sheriff’s Office and Clayton County Police Department.

Denike faces Murder, Aggravated Assault, and Possession of a Firearm During the Commission of a Felony charges. He was taken to Fulton County Jail for processing.
