SOUTH FULTON, GA — Disparities in healthcare for South Fulton’s African American population are at the center of an educational event happening Monday night.

Fulton County District 5 Commissioner Marvin Arrington Jr. is hosting the State of Healthcare for African Americans in Fulton County. It’s happening from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the South Annex on Stonewall Tell Road.

Residents can hear from panelists looking at a range of issues including health disparities and inequities residents are facing in the southern part of the county. The commissioner says his goal is to educate the public.

“It is time we simply do more than talk about the problem of healthcare disparities in the black community,” said Commissioner Arrington. “We must work together to develop and deliver solutions that not only solve the problems but prevent them.”

Attendees can also undergo blood pressure, glucose, and prostate cancer screenings at the event.

You can RSVP on Fulton County’s website.
