More rounds of scattered severe storms possible today with heavy rain, strong wind and hail

ATLANTA — Georgia is settling into the summertime pattern with another round of heavy rain and possible storms expected Wednesday.

95.5 WSB meteorologist Christina Edwards is tracking isolated showers across west Georgia.

It’s the first of several waves that we could see across north Georgia today.

Here’s what to know as you head throughout Wednesday:

  • There is a Level 2 out of 5 risk for severe weather for western parts of metro Atlanta; eastern areas under Level 1 risk
  • More widespread rounds of showers and storms likely through the day
  • Today’s storms will have heavy rain, frequent lightning, strong wind gusts
  • There is the possibility of some hail.
  • It won’t be a complete wash out with sunshine mixing in.
