ATLANTA — Major airlines, including Atlanta-based Delta Air Lines, are offering travel waivers as Hurricane Isaias threatens to disrupt air travel throughout the weekend.
Delta, American Airlines, Southwest Airlines and United Airlines are allowing travelers to change flights without additional fees as widespread cancellations and delays are expected.
The waivers apply to flights traveling to, from or through affected cities along the Gulf Coast, including locations in Mississippi, Alabama and Florida.
JetBlue is also offering travel waivers for flights to, from and through New Orleans.
For Delta passengers, rescheduled travel must take place by Tuesday, October 13.
While the waivers cover several airports in the storm’s projected path, no Georgia airports are currently included.
Hurricane Isaias is expected to move inland after making landfall before continuing north and eastward.
Airlines anticipate the storm will cause cancellations and delays beyond its immediate path, potentially affecting travelers in other parts of the country.
