A dramatic air rescue this afternoon at Cochran Falls after two hikers fall about 25 feet from the face of the falls.

WSB has learned that one of the men was seriously injured.  He was hiking at Cochran Falls in Dawson Creek and had to hauled by helicopter in a basket because of the location and slipperiness of the trail.

It took Department of Natural Resources crews nearly 3 hours to complete the rescue which wrapped up shortly around 5 p.m. on Thursday.

The 22-year-old hiker has been airlifted to Grady Hospital suffering from multiple broken bones.

The second hiker was not seriously injured.
