COBB COUNTY, GA — An investigation is underway after a gun was found at a metro Atlanta high school on Thursday.

Cobb County police officials say a gun was found in a students backpack at South Cobb High School.

The Cobb County School District says police officers detected the weapon during an ‘unrelated discipline issue’ with another student.

A statement says the gun was not used as a direct threat to the school, students or staff.

Two students are in custody related to the incident.
