The crash happened around 11:30 a.m. near Highway 21 at Crossgate Road, according to the Chatham County Emergency Management Agency. The area has been shut down.

Four people are missing and Five people are dead in Wednesday's deadly military plane crash in Georgia, authorities said.

Nine people were on board the aircraft that an Air Force spokesperson specified as a WC-130 weather reconnaissance plane. It belonged to the 156th Airlift Wing.
