At least one of the four suspects accused of attack a gay man outside of a convenience store will face federal charges.
The lawyer for Dorian Moragne says he's learned his client will be prosecuted under a federal hate crimes statute.
Javaris Bradford, Dorian Moragne, 19, Christopher Cain, 19, and Darael Williams are charged with robbery, aggravated assault and participation in criminal street gang activity in the Feb. 4 incident. Gay slurs are heard on video as three men punch and kicked 20-year-old Brandon White, and one man slams a tire on him. Three of the suspects are in custody but, a fourth suspect remains on the loose.
White spoke to reporters after facing his attackers this morning in court. "I actually feel good. It's a process. We're moving along. It's showing that you have many people that are working to just show that justice will be service," said White.
Brandon White was assaulted and robbed on Feb. 4th in an attack that was recorded and posted online.
