Aimee Copeland  is able to leave her hospital room for the first time in 49 days. The Snellville woman was taken by wheelchair on Sunday outside to soak up some sunshine.   Now doctors have also upgraded Aimee Copeland's condition from serious to good after a flesh-decaying infection nearly killed her.

Andy Copeland, her dad, said on his Facebook page, "for one full hour I pushed Aimee around, giving her a tour of the outside of the hospital while her mother followed along with a water jug for Aimee's hydration."  Copeland also wrote,  "the smile on Aimee's face said that this was the best therapy that she has had in weeks."

On May 1st the 24-year-old suffered a deep cut on her calf after falling onto rocks when a zip line snapped over the Little Tallapoosa River near Carrollton.  Copeland's leg then became infected forcing doctors to amputate her left leg, her right foot and both her hands.

Doctors originally told Aimee's family that her chances of survival were slim.  But, the University of West Georgia grad student battled back and on Sunday she went outside for the first time in 6-weeks.
