ATLANTA — 10-year-old Natalie Suarez-Filomeno says everyone she knows, and many she has never met, can spot a celebrity when they see one.
“They’re really so excited. They’re like, I need a signed autograph,” Natalie said.
Natalie is a Girl Scout, and for the first time ever Girl Scouts from metro Atlanta are pictured on a box of cookies.
Lots of boxes of cookies.
“Millions. Millions. The Girl Scouts Cookie Program just here in Atlanta - we’ll sell over 3 million boxes in the Atlanta area this year,” Girl Scouts of Greater Atlanta’s Alantria Dixon said.
It’s the new Raspberry Rally.
At Natalie’s house, the box is now a family heirloom.
“We’ll put some on display. Maybe frame it. Use it to store other cookies. We’re super excited about it,” her dad Rene Suarez-Soto said.
The other local girls on the box think it’s pretty cool.
They’re also pictured on boxes of Adventurefuls.
But the Raspberry Rally is so popular it sold out in less than 24 hours.
The $5 boxes are now being peddled on eBay for $30 and more.
The Girl Scouts would prefer you buy some of their other varieties rather than paying a premium on the resale market.
Maybe Raspberry Rally will be back next year.
When asked how the cookie tasted, Natalie said, “It actually tastes very good.”
