Two people are in the Cobb County jail accused of killing a motorcyclist in a hit-and-run and then trying to cover it up.
Cobb police hit-and-run Investigator Chris Ayers says 32-year-old Brandon Weston and 41-year-old Pamela Rice are being held without bond.
"They advised the body shop that they wanted some of the evidence destroyed. They also wanted the vehicle painted a fully different color and the tires," said Ayers.
He says authorities got a break in the case after someone saw a damaged Porsche in a body shop in Alabaster, Alabama and got suspicious.
Police say Weston was driving a silver 1987 Porsche 944 southbound on I-75 near Windy Hill Road August 20 when he slammed into a motorcycle and killed 31-year-old Emanuel Mitchell of Norcross.
Authorities say Weston and Rice had it repaired and painted black. Then they allegedly had the bill for that work altered, so it looked like the car had been fixed before the accident.
