After 67 employees tested positive for COVID-19, the Ansley Golf Club in Atlanta has shut down to be sanitized, Channel 2 Action News reported.
Club members learned about the outbreak of coronavirus cases in a Wednesday letter, which was obtained by Channel 2. In addition to the dozens of confirmed cases, test results for 40 more employees are pending.
The widespread testing of employees began after nine people tested positive Saturday, the news station reported. The “overwhelming majority” of those infected are asymptomatic, according to club officials, and none of the employees have been hospitalized.
“Throughout the pandemic, Ansley Golf Club has and will continue to keep its facilities as accessible as possible to membership consistent with current health and safety guidelines,” Club President Jack Goger said in a statement to Channel 2.
