Consider this the appetizer.

Georgia and Alabama fans have been filing into Atlanta a day before the SEC Championship game.

To bide the time, and maybe wait out some nerves, many are heading over to the Georgia World Congress and the SEC Fanfare.

“I just took my picture with the National Championship trophy,” said Charles Jones of Calhoun.

Fanfare is open to anyone who will pay $10. You don’t need a ticket to the game, which means this is as close as some people will get to the Georgia Dome.

“I wish I did (have a ticket),” said Richard Hudson of Loganville. “This is the next best thing.”

Jason Sweat of Dallas, Georgia does have a ticket. Two in fact for him and his father.

“It cost me $250 a piece,” said Sweat. “I’m ok with it.”

The only problem is someone has to sit this out.

That would be his son Bryce, 8, and daughter Jaylen, 5.

“I want to go,” said Bryce, but he won’t hold it against his old man. “I don’t do revenge.”

Neither does little Jaylen.

“What’s the big deal?” she said.

Well, the deal is a big one.

One that will bring grown Georgia fans to their knees if the Dawgs win.

“I’ll cry,” said UGA fan Robbie Daley.

He can still keep his man card because  “we’re in the south. It’s the SEC” said his buddy Wade Chasem, who is an Alabama fan.

At least everyone can agree on something. This is one is pretty important.

The SEC Fanfare continues Saturday from 9 a.m. until Kickoff at 4 p.m.
