ATLANTA — Atlanta police have charged a 30-year-old man in the murder of a 59-year-old former Georgia basketball coach.
Iquane Brown faces multiple charges including murder, aggravated assault, armed robbery, hijacking of a motor vehicle, kidnapping, use of a firearm during the commission of a felony, and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon charges for his involvement in the death of Samuel Jackson.
On Jan. 29, APD was informed by the Houston County Sheriff’s Office of a possible body on Donald Lee Hollowell Parkway NW. The victim was later identified as Samuel Jackson.
Jackson was found dead from what police say appear to be gunshot wounds. He was the former head basketball coach of Fort Valley State University men’s program.
Brown is currently being held in the Houston County Jail on unrelated charges.
