Clayton County police are now involved in the triple murder of three people from Alabama, whose bodies were found in a car in Union City.

Sgt. K. T. Hughes tells WSB the murders may have actually taken place at a home on Magnolia Drive in Jonesboro.  Police went to home and found potential evidence supports the crime.

"They believe that something or someone here in Clayton County may have some knowledge of, or something here may be tied in with that incident," said Hughes.

On Sunday, the bodies of 32-year-old Cheryl Colquitt-Thompson, 33-year-old Quinones King, and 43-year-old Rodney Cottrell were found in a car idling on the northbound exit ramp to Flat Shoals Road.

Two of the victims, from Montgomery, Alabama, were reportedly in Atlanta apartment hunting.

According to the Fulton County medical examiner's office, Colquitt-Thompson, who was found in the trunk, was strangled.  The other two were asphyxiated.

So far, police have no motive or suspects in the case.
