The man wanted for the killing of a Stone Mountain mother of five has been captured in North Carolina.
DeKalb County police say Keitran Foots was tracked down in Granville County, N.C. early Sunday morning. Authorities with the Granville Co. Sheriff’s Office tipped DeKalb police that Foots’ vehicle was spotted at 2:30 a.m. A chase followed, after which Foots left his vehicle on foot. Authorities set up a perimeter and were able to take Foots into custody without incident.
The 30-year-old Foots is expected to be charged with murder in the death of 35-year-old Sharika Bowman. Police say Friday morning, Bowman returned to her Wyndam Drive home in Stone Mountain where she lived with Foots and her children. “As she sat in her SUV in the driveway, Foots approached her with a gun and fired multiple gunshots into the vehicle,” DeKalb police said. “Several of the rounds struck and killed Ms. Bowman while she was still in the vehicle.”
A family member said Bowman was a licensed practical nurse and was studying to be a registered nurse.
Foots is being held in the Granville County (N.C.) jail awaiting transfer back to Georgia.
