Strong cold front heading our way

I am not particularly worried about severe weather in Atlanta tonight or tomorrow but the chance is not zero.

Unseasonably warm this afternoon about 10 degrees above-normal for this time of year, but it won’t last as a strong cold front will sweep across the area tomorrow with falling temperatures during the day Tuesday into the upper 40s late afternoon and 29-32 Tuesday night.

An isolated light shower is possible late this afternoon or evening with more widespread and heavier rain late tonight into early tomorrow morning.

An isolated strong or severe thunderstorm is possible late tonight or early tomorrow morning, but as of now it looks like the greatest risk for severe weather including a tornado risk will be in states to our West. But stay tuned in case that changes. Currently the marginal threat level is only 1 on a scale of 1 to 5, midnight to 8am give or take a couple hours.

Rainfall amounts expected to average a half to one inch before ending after 1pm Tuesday.
