Beautiful weather will continue in Metro Atlanta this week, though temperatures will climb from the low 80s to near 90 degrees by Thursday.

High pressure will park over the eastern half of the United States, allowing sunshine and dry conditions to prevail for much of the week.

However, the high will slide east towards the Eastern Seaboard by Thursday, pushing humid air from the Gulf back into the South. As a result, humid air will return to Metro Atlanta late this week and a few rain showers are possible on Friday.

The best chance for rainfall is this weekend, as a storm system will bring scattered showers and thunderstorms back to the Southeast.
