Just in time for the weekend, scattered showers and thunderstorms will roll through the Metro Atlanta area as well as North Georgia.
Already, heavy rain and thunderstorms are developing across the Atlanta area, potentially impacting the Friday commute home as well as local Football Friday night high school games.

Saturday’s College Football Outlook
University of Georgia vs Western Kentucky University, 12:45pm
The Georgia Bulldogs will host the Western Kentucky Hilltoppers on Saturday afternoon, with kickoff taking place at 12:45pm in Athens.
Temperatures won’t be as sweltering compared to one week ago, but it will still be hot and humid! Kickoff temperatures will be in the mid 80s, but “feels like” conditions will be close to 90 degrees.

Heading to Sanford Stadium? Be sure to pack a rain jacket or poncho! Umbrellas are not allowed in the stadium.
Lightning is a possibility for Saturday. Be aware that if lightning is observed within 8 miles of Sanford Stadium, the game will halt and spectators will be asked to seek shelter in the stadium concourses or in nearby buildings.

Georgia Tech vs Tennessee, 7pm
The Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets will host the Tennessee Volunteers on Saturday evening, with kickoff taking place at 7pm in Midtown Atlanta.
Cloud cover will keep temperatures in the low to mid 80s for much of the afternoon, but a few rain showers and thunderstorms will be lurking nearby if not moving directly over the stadium.
