ATLANTA — By air…by road – travelers heading for their holiday destinations have made this a busier Sunday than normal across metro Atlanta.
At Hartsfield-Jackson International Airport, long lines were seen Sunday morning, on a day that was expected to be the busiest of this holiday week. Across the holiday period that extends through January 2nd, officials expect more than 3.7 million travelers to pass through Hartsfield-Jackson.
FlightAware.com on Sunday afternoon, showed more than 300 total delays for the day into/out of Hartsfield-Jackson.

Not helping matters is the weather. Rain has been falling through the day Sunday, with temperatures only in the 40's. There is good news in the days ahead: the forecast for the week sees rising temperatures and clearing, including rain-free and highs in the 60's for Christmas Eve and Day.
