Homicide investigators in Gwinnett County are trying to piece together the events that led up to a murder/suicide in Lawrenceville early Friday morning.

Officers were called to a home located at 415 Laurelton Circle in response to a person shot.  When police arrived at the house they found a man and woman dead from gunshot wounds. Three children were inside the home at the time. One of the children had a superficial gunshot wound.

The children ages 8, 14 and 16 told responding officers the man and woman were their parents. They were identified as 51 year old Lucio Jimenez and 43 year old Paula Gonzalez. An interview with the three children revealed their parents had been involved in a fight before the shooting. During the fight Paula Gonzalez retrieved a hand gun and fired several shot killing Jimenez. One of the children was grazed by a stray bullet. Gonzalez then shot herself.

Police tell WSB that police had been to the home on a domestic dispute call back in February. Police are investigating the specifics of what led up the shooting. The children are with family, and DEFACS is involved in the investigation.
