ATLANTA (AP) Users of public transportation in Atlanta will have to adjust to historic cuts in service starting Saturday.
Ten percent of MARTA bus service and 14 percent of train service is being cut.
MARTA spokesman Lyle Harris says it translates to the loss of about 40 bus routes and some 2,700 bus stops. Officials blame a shaky economy and lack of funding.
MARTA is dealing with historic revenue challenges including less money from sales tax and a $109 million budget shortfall.
Beginning Oct. 3, the cost of mobility passes, and passes from two days to thirty days will increase.
